Videogames developed in Spain should be registered in the National Library

The National Library must keep at least a copy of each of the videogames developed in Spain. This measure is part of a reform approved by the Commission on Culture and Sports of the Congress of Deputies that updates the functions of the Legal Deposit. The initiative has been approved with 30 votes in favor and five against, with VOX as the only party that has not supported it. It still does not have an immediate effect, but it is a bill that should be ratified by the Senate to enter into force. From that moment, all videogames produced in Spain will have to be collected in the national library registry by means of a digital copy, as well as a physics in the event that the game has it. The proposal, in addition to videogames, also includes printing publications on demand, markers and commercial catalogs of libraries and auctions, and has been recognized as a conservation center to the Spanish Filmoteca.
